1. About TANSU
TANSU Cosmetics is a local-first commerce and marketing platform currently operating from Goarah, Simlagarh, Pandua, Hooghly, West Bengal – 712135, India. TANSU is being launched initially in Hooghly district to understand and improve the marketplace model, with an intended phased expansion district-by-district, state-by-state, and ultimately across India.
TANSU may operate as a marketplace and marketing platform for independent retailers and may also sell selected TANSU products directly. These Terms apply to retailers who apply for or receive access to the TANSU Retailer Hub.
2. TANSU's Purpose
TANSU is designed especially to support small local businesses, including single-owner and small partnership businesses, that may have limited access to digital commerce, customer reach, delivery support, order management and business tools. TANSU aims to help such businesses build sustainable local customer relationships while maintaining fair, reliable and transparent marketplace standards.
3. Eligibility & Registration
- The applicant must provide truthful, current and complete information.
- The applicant must be legally capable of entering into an agreement and conducting the stated business activity.
- TANSU may request identity, business, product, payment, address or other verification information where reasonably required.
- Submission of an application does not guarantee approval. Retailer access is activated only after TANSU review and approval.
- Where a tax registration such as GST is applicable to the retailer's business, the retailer remains responsible for obtaining and maintaining the required registration and compliance.
4. Retailer Account
The retailer is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials, keeping business information accurate, and promptly informing TANSU of material changes. A retailer must not impersonate another business, create misleading profiles, manipulate marketplace activity, or allow unauthorized persons to operate the account.
5. Products & Listings
- Retailers must list only products they are authorized to sell and must provide accurate product names, descriptions, images, prices, stock information, weight and dimensions where requested.
- Products must be genuine, lawfully sourced and suitable for sale in India.
- Counterfeit, stolen, prohibited, unsafe, misleading or unlawfully restricted products are not permitted.
- For cosmetics and personal-care products, the retailer is responsible for applicable authenticity, packaging, labeling, batch/lot, expiry and regulatory requirements.
- Retailers must not make false, exaggerated, medically misleading or otherwise unlawful product claims.
- TANSU may review, reject, unpublish or request changes to any listing.
6. Pricing, Commission & Performance
The standard retailer commission is 8%, unless a different rate is communicated or approved for a particular retailer, category or product.
- Commission may vary based on product margin, category economics, retailer performance, profile score, service quality, fulfilment performance and other reasonable commercial factors.
- Low-margin products may receive a commission rate below the standard rate.
- Higher-margin products may ordinarily remain subject to the standard 8% rate unless otherwise approved.
- Strong and sustained performance, including a high profile score and reliable fulfilment, may qualify a retailer for a lower commission rate in the future.
- Heavy, special-handling or otherwise exceptional products may require separate TANSU review and may be approved with separate commercial terms.
Any retailer-specific rate or commercial arrangement communicated by TANSU will apply according to the terms communicated for that arrangement.
7. Orders & Fulfilment
Retailers are responsible for accepting and preparing orders accurately and within the time reasonably required by TANSU. The standard local order workflow is:
Order Placed→Confirmed→Shipped→Out for Delivery→Delivered
Retailers must not falsely mark an order as shipped, out for delivery or delivered. Delivery disputes must be handled through the TANSU process.
8. TANSU Local Delivery
During the current local-first launch, delivery may be calculated separately for each retailer in a multi-retailer order. Depending on the retailer and destination, serviceability and charges may consider:
- Retailer origin PIN code.
- Retailer-configured free-delivery radius, subject to TANSU limits.
- TANSU-approved additional free-delivery PINs.
- Approved paid PIN-specific delivery charges.
- Distance-based delivery pricing.
- Actual and/or volumetric chargeable weight and product dimensions.
- Other delivery rules communicated by TANSU.
A combined TANSU cart meeting the configured free-delivery order-value threshold may qualify for free delivery across participating retailers. The current default threshold is ₹599 and may be changed by TANSU through its applicable policies.
Delivery rules may evolve as TANSU expands beyond its local launch and introduces external logistics or courier integrations.
9. Customer Orders, Returns & Refunds
Retailers must cooperate with TANSU regarding cancellations, returns, replacements, refunds, damaged/wrong/mismatched products and customer disputes. The applicable outcome may depend on the reason for the issue, product category, evidence, retailer responsibility and TANSU policy.
Retailers must not obstruct a legitimate customer resolution or provide false information during an investigation.
10. Payments & Settlement
Retailer settlements are subject to the applicable TANSU settlement process, commission deductions, refunds, adjustments, disputes and any other amounts properly due. Retailers must provide accurate bank/UPI details and remain responsible for their own applicable taxes, statutory obligations and records.
11. Customer Information & Privacy
Customer information made available to a retailer through TANSU is provided for legitimate order fulfilment, delivery, customer support and related marketplace purposes. Retailers must keep such information confidential, use it only for legitimate purposes, protect it from unauthorized access, and must not sell, share, export, scrape, spam or use customer information for unrelated marketing without a lawful basis and required permission.
12. Prohibited Conduct
- Fraudulent orders, fake transactions or manipulation of marketplace activity.
- Fake reviews, ratings, customer accounts or performance signals.
- Counterfeit, stolen, unsafe, illegal or unauthorized products.
- Misleading product information, pricing or promotional claims.
- Unauthorized use or disclosure of customer information.
- Attempts to bypass TANSU fees, controls, verification or delivery rules.
- Harassment, abuse, threats or unlawful conduct toward customers, TANSU personnel or other retailers.
13. TANSU Review, Suspension & Termination
TANSU may review retailer activity and may temporarily restrict listings, hold or adjust settlements where reasonably necessary to investigate an issue, or suspend/terminate retailer access for material breach, fraud, repeated poor fulfilment, prohibited products, inaccurate information, customer-safety concerns or other serious policy violations.
Where appropriate, TANSU may provide an opportunity to correct or explain an issue. Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove rights or remedies available under applicable law.
14. Intellectual Property
TANSU names, logos, software, interface elements and original platform materials remain the property of their respective owners. Retailers must have the right to use any product images, brand assets, descriptions or other content they upload and must not infringe another person's intellectual-property rights.
15. Platform Changes
TANSU is an evolving startup platform. Features, delivery methods, service areas, commercial policies, commission structures and operational procedures may change as the platform develops. TANSU may update these Terms when reasonably necessary and will publish the then-current version for retailer acceptance where required.
16. Grievance & Dispute Handling
Retailers should first raise operational complaints, payment issues, delivery disputes or account concerns through the TANSU support/grievance process. TANSU will review matters in good faith and according to applicable policy and law.
These Terms are intended to operate subject to applicable laws of India. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory statutory right or remedy available to a retailer or customer.
17. Electronic Acceptance
When a retailer ticks the mandatory acceptance checkbox and submits an application, the retailer confirms that they have read and understood these Terms and agree to follow them as a condition of participating in the TANSU Retailer Program. TANSU may retain the accepted Terms version and acceptance date/time as part of its retailer records.
